Detalii produs                1st French Edition of this work that pioneered the aerodynamics theory.

''His lectures at the Moscow Imperial Technical School on the theoretical basis of
aeronautics (1911-12) were the world's first systematic course in aviation theory
and were based largely on his own theoretical research and on experiment
conducted in laboratories that he  had established.''

            J. J. Connor - E.F. Robertson, University of St. Andrews, Scotland

''Those lecture notes were recorded by two of this students and were published
after Joukowski reviewed them. The first Russian edition appeared in 1912, and
the first French edition in 1916; second editions in Russian and in French
confirmed the value of those notes. So far as I can determine, there has never
been an English translation. Joukowski developed a means of designing airfoils
using conformal mapping and the techniques of complex variables. Those
techniques provide a mathematically rigorous reference solution to which modern
approaches to airfoil design can be compared for validation’’
